Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 14, 2026

GamesScroll (“GamesScroll”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the GamesScroll mobile app and the gamesscroll.com website (together, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

Account information you provide. When you create an account, we collect your email address, a username, and a password (stored as a salted hash — we never store or can see your plain-text password). You may optionally add a display name, a short bio, a profile photo, and a profile banner image.

Information from third-party sign-in. If you sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple instead of a password, we receive a unique account identifier and the email address (and, for Google, the name) associated with that account. We do not import your Google profile photo. If you use Sign in with Apple, we only receive your name if Apple provides it on your first authorization.

Content you create. We collect and store the content you post or send through the Service: posts and video clips, comments, reactions, direct messages, events you create or RSVP to, and reports you file about other content or users.

Social and usage information. We store who you follow/subscribe to and who you've blocked, and a record of which posts you've viewed (used to improve what's shown to you — see Section 2).

Device and push notification data.If you enable push notifications, we store a device push token and your device platform (iOS or Android) so we can deliver notifications to you. You can disable push notifications at any time in the app's settings.

Automatically collected information. Like most online services, our servers automatically log standard technical information with each request (such as IP address and timestamps) for security and reliability purposes. This is transient operational logging, not something we build user profiles from.

What we do not currently collect. We do not collect your precise device location, and we do not use any third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in the app.

2. How we use your information

  • To create and maintain your account and authenticate you.
  • To operate core features: showing your feed, delivering messages, running events and RSVPs, and displaying your profile to other users.
  • To send you notifications you've opted into (e.g. event reminders, replies, RSVPs).
  • To send account-related emails, such as email verification codes.
  • To keep the Service safe — reviewing reports, enforcing our community guidelines, and preventing abuse.
  • To maintain, secure, and improve the Service.

3. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these circumstances:

  • With other users, as part of using the Service. Your username, profile info, and public content are visible to other users (or the public, if your account isn't private). Messages are visible to the people in that conversation. Event RSVP lists are visible on the event.
  • Service providers we use to operate GamesScroll: Google and Apple (to verify sign-in), Firebase Cloud Messaging (to deliver push notifications), Amazon Web Services (to host uploaded photos/videos and our infrastructure), our email delivery provider (to send verification and account emails), and Giphy (only the text you search for, when you search for a GIF to attach to a message or comment).
  • For legal reasons. If required to comply with a legal obligation, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of GamesScroll, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers. If GamesScroll is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction; we'll notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4. Data retention and account deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the app's settings (Settings → Delete account), or by visiting gamesscroll.com/delete-account. When you do, we immediately and irreversibly deactivate your account, sign it out of all devices, and erase the personal profile data attached to it — including your email, password, name, bio, profile photo, banner, and push notification tokens. Your account can't be recovered or logged into again after this point, and your username and email become available for someone (including you) to register a new account with.

Because GamesScroll is a social product, some content is shared with other people by design. Posts, comments, and messages you've sent may continue to exist and remain visible after your account is deleted (for example, messages you sent in a conversation, or a comment on someone else's post), in the same way that deleting your account on most social apps doesn't retract content already shared with others. If you want specific posts, comments, or messages removed, you can delete them individually before deleting your account, or contact us at admin@gamesscroll.com.

5. Your choices and rights

  • You can update your profile information, avatar, and bio at any time in the app.
  • You can make your account private, limiting who can see your content.
  • You can block and report other users or content directly in the app.
  • You can turn push notifications on or off in the app's settings.
  • You can request deletion of your account and data as described in Section 4.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information — such as the right to access, correct, export, or delete it, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at admin@gamesscroll.com.

6. Children's privacy

GamesScroll is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at admin@gamesscroll.com and we will delete it.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and salted password hashing. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and to respond quickly if an issue arises.

8. International users

GamesScroll is operated from, and our servers are located in, the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.

10. Contact us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information, contact us at admin@gamesscroll.com.
